Season 2024 is away with a great turn up for Round One at Wrights Reserve. The ground was shaky earlier in the week with the pitch not covered and no goal posts, but alas it was all sorted by ball up at 7:30pm….. hopefully the grass clumps though will be gone by next week and everyone got it out of their boots!
We welcomed Steve who had joined us previously from AFL9s along with Ryan, who was still resting the calf after a ‘training strain’ who filled in as a glorious goal umpire at the train line end.
There was a usual round up of our mates from the Wombats which is always great to see and we also had the pleasure of NSW AFL Masters President Matt Crowe, who also joined us to see what all the fuss was about Redbacks Footy.
Well done to all the lads that came down and we hope to get a good contingent of fellas each and every week down at Wrights Reserve for some good times, good yarns, a cold frothy post game and of course….. Footy for Fun! Thanks again to Maxy for umpiring to make sure we play in the fair spirit of the game too, and Isla for taking the happy snaps of the lads post game!
See you all on the park soon….
